Receiving a New Archbishop

An Opportunity for Catechesis on Bishops in the Catholic Church

Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki was installed as the 11th Archbishop of Milwaukee on January 4, 2010.
The arrival of a new archbishop offers a teachable moment, an opportunity for catechesis on the role of bishops in the church and on the nature of the local archdiocesan church.  The Office of Catechesis & Youth Ministry, the Catholic Herald, and other archdiocesan offices provide information and resources.

    Prayer on the Appointment of a New Archbishop

    God our Father,
    our shepherd and guide,
    look with love on Archbishop Jerome Listecki, your appointed pastor of the Church of southeastern Wisconsin.
    May his word and example inspire and guide this local Church;
    may he, and all those in his care,
    come to the joy of everlasting life.

    Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
    one God, for ever and ever.

    Amen.
