Faith-a-Thon

FAITH-A-THON is an annual knowledge competition for middle school students sponsored by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Office of Catechesis & Youth Ministry and the TYME OUT Youth Ministry and Retreat Center. 

FAITH-A-THON consists of a series of games testing young people's knowledge of the Catholic faith, including scripture, doctrine, the commandments, sacraments, church history, etc.   Questions are based on the archdiocesan curriculum and the various religion textbooks used in archdiocesan schools and religious education programs. Teams consist of six 6th, 7th and/or 8th graders. Teams play a series of games, competing for the most points of the day.  The final game is a playoff between the highest scoring teams.
 
Preparation for the Faith-a-thon provides a great opportunity for young people to learn the basic facts of their faith, in a fun and engaging way.
 
The 2012 FAITH-A-THON will be held as two separate competitions:
 
Saturday April 28, 2012 - scheduled especially for parish teams
Archbishop Cousins Catholic Center
8:30am – 2:00pm
 
Friday May 11, 2012 - scheduled especially for Catholic school teams
TYME OUT Youth Ministry Center
8:30am – 2:00pm
 
 

The Office of Catechesis and Youth Ministry offers financial assistance to help parishes or schools participate in FAITH-A-THON.
