The Sacrament of Mercy: A Guide to the Sacrament of Reconciliation by Joshua A. Dieterich
This resource is designed to help youth groups, religious education programs, and Catholic high school teachers prepare their students to understand and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
The “Full” version is 28 pages, contains 2 sessions and is suited for religious education programs and other groups where meeting time is limited. The “Expanded” version is 55 pages, 4 sessions and is designed for Youth Ministry or Catholic Schools where time is more available. The “Expanded” edition is also designed to help teachers & catechists at all levels who are interested in going deeper into the importance of the sacrament of confession/penance/reconciliation with their students, and helping them be more prepared to receive the sacrament.
Catholic school teachers, Directors of Religious Education, youth ministers and others in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee can contact Randy Nohl, nohlr@archmil.org to receive a free version of this resource that may be copied and distributed amongst their catechists and volunteers as needed. Youth Ministry Resource: Confession by Christopher Stefanick
This guide contains information for about a one hour session with high school students. It includes a skit/icebreaker, Lectio Divina experience, catechetical teaching on Confession, teen testimony and small group discussion.
